We offer audio books on CD for rent or purchase, and two types of download files available as part of our download club, or for purchase. We offer these different audio book formats so that you can choose the right one for your needs.

MP3

MP3s are one of the most common formats for audio files, and are compatible with nearly all portable music players.

Compatible with: most portable music players, including iPods
Plays in: Windows Media Player, iTunes, VLC, Winamp, Real Player, Zune Software
Burn to CD: Yes
Ideal format for: burning to CDs for listening to in the car, or as a backup of your audio book file

M4B

The M4B file type is designed specifically for audio books. Its key feature is bookmarking, which allows you to stop listening to an audio book, close your media player or turn off your portable music player, and then later resume listening from the exact point where you left off. It has become the new standard for spoken word in digital audio.

Plays in: Windows Media Player, iTunes, VLC, Winamp
Burn to CD: No. M4Bs will be too large to burn to CD
Ideal format for: listening on compatible portable digital media players

CD

Our audio books on CD are standard audio compact discs.

Plays in: all CD players
Burn to CD: No. Rental CDs cannot be copied, or ripped onto a computer
Ideal format for: listening in the car, at home, or anywhere you have a Compact Disc player
