Winner of the Obie Award, the LA Dramalogue Award and the New York Press Award for best autobiographical solo show.
In Lisa Kron's solo performance piece, humor and horror share the same human moment. Kron's roller-coaster ride through her family album carries her back and forth from her journey to Auschwitz to her septuagenarian father, a Holocaust survivor, to her Michigan family's annual pilgrimage to the Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio, to her brother's engagement and subsequent marriage to his Internet bride. Struggling to make sense of her father's mortality, her own relationship to his destroyed world, and the absurdities and quirks of everyday life, Kron rises and falls between the hilariously witty and the deeply felt.
