Overview

What would happen if a top expert with more than thirty years of leadership experience were willing to distill everything he had learned about leadership into a handful of life-changing principles just for you? It would change your life.

John C. Maxwell has done exactly that in "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership. He has combined insights learned from his thirty-plus years of leadership successes and mistakes with observations from the worlds of business, politics, sports, religion, and military conflict. The result is a revealing study of leadership delivered as only a communicator like Maxwell can.

This book was actually better than I thought it would be. It turned out to be affirming for me regarding a big project I'm working on right now and my approach to that project. Timing is everything!

This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to become a better leader at work, at home, or just in life. I read the book about 8 years ago, when my boss told me too and listening to it was a great review!!

Don't let this book get by you! I think that it is the second time I have rented it (or at least, I think I have read the book before). I find it's information invaluable to my everyday life. You don't have to be a leader to like this book. It really helps anyone, whether you are a business executive, manager, supervisor, or even a father! Keep in mind that John Maxwell has done many books on leading, team building, etc... and he is the MASTER in all of these areas! Just try Leaderships 21 Irrefutable laws and you'll see what I am so excited about.

I have read a lot of Maxwells books and been to a couple of his seminars. This is some of his best stuff. If you do it, it works. It is making all 21 a habit that is the trick.

I love the way John Maxwell writes - bullet points of ideas, filled with examples and stories. And his voice is so easy to listen to. I found myself jotting down notes form this CD! There's so much I want to remember.

He tells you who and where, but not how

I was not very impressed with this book. This senior Pastor talks about different leaders that he considers to have the leadership skills he notes, but rarely discusses how a person can acquire these skills. This is definitly not a 'how - to' book which I was looking for. And many of these qualites he mentions are obvious or very bias. Finally, hearing this from a religious leader does not inspire confidence for someone out in the real world.

This is a great book. John C. Maxwell has certainly done his research! I highly recommend this book if you are like me and don't have a mentor, but would like to improve your leadership skillset.

If this is your first exposure to Maxwell's work, you'll love it. This is the third selection I've heard from the author and quite frankly he gets a little redundant. Definately worth the time, especially if you have lost your faith in management and leaders. He reaffirms that you can be a nice guy and finish first too!
