This was really, really bad. My first experience with this author. He does not have even a rudimentary understanding of the law or the legal system, neither the law-enforcement profession nor the court system. The dialogue was horrid. The book was boring and completely predictable. All in all, it was just awful. I cannot understand how a writer that is this bad continues to get published.

I enjoyed listening to this book, although it gave too many clues too early. I pretty much had it figured out by half way through. I also thought the drawn out courtroom scenes were too long and boring. This is my first James Patterson book and couldn't understand why it was necessary to have a new chapter after ever page (or so it seemed). It was kind of annoying to break the flow of the book every few minutes with a new "chapter 100...". Overall though, it was pretty interesting and made my long drive a little easier.

This book is fine if you are not looking for intelligent litterature. It entertains and the plot takes surprise twists. Having not read the preceding books in the series, I was at no disadvantage as Patterson fills in the needed gaps.

I really enjoyed this book, it took a little while to get into it but it was well worth the persistance. Towards the end I didn't want to stop listening.

I have loved almost everything James Patterson has written. Although I have not read (listen all of the Women's Murder Club series, but hope to soon. His characters seem so real, down to earth people. As I listen, I feel as if I am watching a movie. I am dyslexic, so I can get the story by listening rather than trying to read books. Very good book. I love mystery novels.

The book was great, just like all his books are. I really didn't guess the killer until the end and it surprised me. I like that in a book. Keeps you listening to the end. Happy reading

I enjoyed this book. I felt that it kept me interested through out and gave me a few surprises along the way. Also, I liked the new character they introduced who may have a recurring part.

Love Lindsey Boxer! This was the first Women's Murder Club that I had been able to figure out before the end....most of them kept me in suspense right up to the last, but while I enjoyed hearing the last of this one, I already knew 'who done it'...LOL...just too many characters that were introduced into the story line, and then 'dropped'...or left incomplete. But a BIG YEAH FOR LINDSEY! A "DAMN GOOD COP".

James Patterson is an award-winning American author. Formerly the chairman of advertising company J. W. Thompson in the early 1990s, Patterson came up with the slogan "Toys R Us Kid." Shortly after his success with Along Came A Spider, he retired from the firm and devoted his time to writing. The novels-featuring his character, Alex Cross, a black forensic psychologist formerly of the Washington, D.C. Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, now working as a private psychologist and government consultant-are the most popular books among Patterson readers and the top selling US Detective series in the past ten years.

Paetro, Maxine

Maxine Paetro is the author of three novels; Manshare, Babydreams, and Windfall, published between 1986 and 1991. She also wrote the biography, Dream Lovers, the Magnificent, Shattered Lives of Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee by Their Son, Dodd Darin in 1993. Her first book, How to Put Your Book Together and Get a Job in Advertising (non-fiction), was published for the first time in 1979 and is still in print today.

Paetro has collaborated with best-selling author James Patterson, co-writing The 4th of July, The 5th Horseman and The 6th Target, all New York Times #1 best sellers in the Women's Murder Club Series. The series' seventh book, 7th Heaven, also a Patterson/Paetro collaboration, was published in February, 2008.

From 1975 through 1987 Paetro was a recruiter and EVP creative department manager at several large New York City advertising agencies.

Her garden, Broccoli Hall, has been featured in national magazines including House & Garden, Victoria Magazine, and Country Garden and is on the Garden Conservancy Open Days Program.

Paetro is married to former surety bond executive, John A. Duffy, now founder and CEO of consulting company, Manhattan Bridge, LLC.
