8th Habit

Written by Regan Waller on May 28th, 2008

I enjoyed hearing this book, but thought that in order to be truly meaningful it needs to be read as a book in lieu of listened to as an audio book. It is impossible to really stop wherever you are and slide in a video. I generally listen to books while driving, so I could not reasonably stop the book and watch the video. I did enjoy it enough to be seriously considering buying the book so that I could read it as the author originally intended.

This has been the best audiobook so far. The dvd that goes with it really hits home. In fact I would like to buy this program....I'm not going to send this back. I can see real value here. This needs to be used every 4 months to remember all this.

Lengthy

This book was a little more lengthly than I would have liked. The couple of disks were a waste of time and almost caused me to stop listening. The additional videos were unnecessary. I listen while commuting and was not about to stop listening so that I could watch a video. Although containing good concepts the book seemed to be a rambling of various learned discoveries by the author. I would have like a more succinctly organized presentation.

The 8th Habit From Effectiveness to Greatness

What a differt world we would live in if all these principles were lived by and all of us "found our voice" and helped others to do the same. I found this and the "7 Habits" book to be very enlightening into human behavior and was at the same time very challenged by both of them. I will never look at conflict and challenges in my personal or business life the same again. Having a "win-win" philosophy is so much better than win-lose or lose-win that are so traditional in corporate America. I found the both books lengthy but they still held my interest all the way through

The 8th Habit

I truly enjoyed this book both on tape and in print. We are reading it in our Supervisor team at work and I requested in on tape in order to make it easier to complete the "reading". Stephen Covey has some great ideas to help both yourself and others "find their voice". I recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their worth in addition to those who are in a formal leadership position over others.

Better in Print

Although I was hoping that I would get something out of being able to listen to this marvelous book while commuting to and from work, I found that this type of book is better for me when I read it. I'm looking forward to picking up a copy to read soon.

This is one of those transformational books, a must read. As a small business owner my top 5 picks would be: 1. The Bible 2. The E-Myth 3. The 7 Habits 4. The 8th Habit 5. First Break all the Rules I guarantee that each one of these will change your life...

Good but....

7 Habits is a must to read first but my biggest disappointment was there is a DVD that comes with the book that isn't provided until the 3rd set of CDs. You are supposed to watch it throughout, once per chapter.

I felt I was being lectured to rather than read to. Since I couldn't get past that thought, I had no interet in finishing it.

Good but drag on

Written by Robert Patterson II on October 26th, 2006

Its good but it takes too long to get the point. When it takes 5 times as long as it takes to hear about the first 7 habits, the 8th may not be worth hearing about. Parts are inspiring though if you have the patience for 13 CDs.
