I can't believe I actually listened to this whole set. It was boring, hard to understand, and basically not plot that I cared about. I kept expecting a good ending, but alas, nothing of value. The character development basically left me with an "I don't care what happens to any of these characters. The plot was boring. The prejudice was unnecessary. I recommend you look for another book.
I like historical novels and this gave enough of a flavor of the period. The plot kept me going and the reading was quite good.
I don't know why I even bother with abridged books. The characters have no substance; the plot is so shortened that it's hard to follow. I lasted through 2 discs then returned it.
I generally enjoy historical thrillers, but I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes.
The plot had many twists and turns. I was still guessing at the end. Would recommend it.
