Relive the Golden Age of Radio with 20 hilarious episodes of The Abbott & Costello Show, featuring such guest stars as Lucille Ball, Cary Grant and the Andrews Sisters. I guess people were more easily entertained then ...

I guess my fiance and I both expected this to be funnier than it proved to be. Actually, the funniest part was the commercials .. we're still laughing about the C-A-M-E-L-S jingle and the "packed to go around the world" slogan for the cigarettes. The skits were rather obvious and slapstick ... we were trying to figure out why people might have considered them to be funny at the time, but we didn't come up with many theories. If you think "Who's on First?" is just the greatest, absolutely brilliantly-written and executed piece of comedy ever, this is definitely a collection you will adore.

This was a step back in time, listening to the comercials was just as entertaining as the programs themselves. I enjoyed listening to a part of history that I myself was not aroung for. And the music and guest stars were great reminders of the classic movie era. If you enjoy the old movies with Abbott & Costello, Carry Grant and other great actors and actresses as I do, you will enjoy this trip back in time. It also gives us a little reminder of what it was like during that WWII.
