I had expected this to be a suspense/thriller playing out in the 40/50s in the South and it was - sort of. But it also was mostly a christian book with plenty of verse and religous citations. Since I am not a religous person I found the constant preaching annoying and sent it back after listening to only two discs. The reason why I even made it through them is because the story itself was good and the reader was excellent. But if I want religion I can go to church. It should be labelled as a christian book, not a suspense thriller.
