No "smoking gun" but a very good read, you won't regret it..
Good book, full of interesting facts gleaned from the authors journey to the places proported to be sites in Abrahams life. Commentary on major religions insightful.
This was a great book and the author in particular portrays this story well. I am much more interested in the history of God and man in general because of his story-telling. Thank you for opening my eyes and heart.
This was very informative and at times very inspiring. I just had a hard time making myself focus on it. It showed me the common links behind the beliefs on Catholics, Muslims, and Jews. I'm glad I listened to this book, I just wish I had been a more attentive student.
Abraham was my introduction to religious history, and it sold me on the intrigue of the subject. At times, the author puts a little too much of himself in the narrative, but overall, I found this book quite interesting, well written, and well read.
This was an excellent book. I enjoyed having the author read his own book. The depth of experience and question was thought provoking and I learned so much about all three great religions.
It was hard to choose between 3 and 4 stars. 4 stars won out. I would definately recommend this book. I knew absolutely NOTHING about Abraham and very little about Jews and Muslims. This book made me want to know more. In this time of hate, this book makes you realize that all the Jews, Muslims and Christians in this world began as one. I found it very moving and it has inspired me to want to know more. I only gave it 4 stars because I felt the author, at times, was telling me what I should think and feel instead of simply telling the story. This was not often enough to make me stop listening! Truly an interesting book!
