This book could not keep me interested. I turned it off and returned it. BORING!
This book was interesting and full of history. Both my children, ages 8 and 12, will be able to understand and enjoy it.
Across 5 Aprils was a very entertaining book. Actually 4.5 stars. Based on the story line, it would be excellent as a summer reading book for ages 9-13 or so. The story revolves around a 9-13 old boy and his family during the Civil War.
This book got off to a very slow start and was slow and boring until the end. I listened to the whole book waiting for something to happen, but I had to realize that it was more like a "real life history". It was well written and some may enjoy a book like this one. I don't know if I would recommend this book to a friend, but if you like "real life history" type books, you may like it.
I read chose this book because my daughter had to read it for english and I wanted to have an idea when she did her book report. What a great story about a time when what was most important was very clear and how you can see history repeating itself...
