Overview

This compelling classic of a boy's coming of age during the Civil War is based on stories the author's grandfather told her about his own life. Available for the first time in unabridged audio, this production should be a powerful tool enabling students to engage with this complex and important novel. Great for family listening.

This book was interesting and full of history. Both my children, ages 8 and 12, will be able to understand and enjoy it.

Across 5 Aprils was a very entertaining book. Actually 4.5 stars. Based on the story line, it would be excellent as a summer reading book for ages 9-13 or so. The story revolves around a 9-13 old boy and his family during the Civil War.

This book got off to a very slow start and was slow and boring until the end. I listened to the whole book waiting for something to happen, but I had to realize that it was more like a "real life history". It was well written and some may enjoy a book like this one. I don't know if I would recommend this book to a friend, but if you like "real life history" type books, you may like it.

I read chose this book because my daughter had to read it for english and I wanted to have an idea when she did her book report. What a great story about a time when what was most important was very clear and how you can see history repeating itself...
