Listened with my daughter and we both enjoyed the period language and suspense.

The stories, some new, and narration were excellent; however, the commercials were an unwelcome surprise.

These are reworked 1940's radio dramas. Most leave out the exciting ending where Sherlock Holmes explains how he came to his conclusions, and how elementary it was. That was my favorite part of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories. More stories can fit on one CD when they are this short, but I prefer the original text. These CDs are constantly interrupted with commercials for radio program sponsor, and each story is fit into a single track, so you cannot skip ahead or back. I don't know how many times I had to start over because I reached my destination before the story was over. There were a couple of stories I had not heard before, so that was nice.

Although the stories are all wonderful, the inclusion of the commercials between portions of the stories and beginning and end get very tiresome. First time it is pretty funny hearing about Clippercraft mens' clothing, but not over and over and over. Sound effects for the radio shows were great, tho. "J"
