My children thought this was incredibly boring and the disks were in such bad shape that they skipped constantly.

I usually like these old radio shows, but this one was horrible. The story, which was weak to begin with, dragged on way too long. The interesting point were the pro-World War II political (anti-isolationist) bias hamhandedly presented in the radiocast.

If you can listen through interminable lists and lists and lists of weekly winners and more winners and more winners to get to the storyline, you are more patient that I am. But it is an interesting piece of Americana nonetheless.

I was extremely disappointed with this radio production. First of all, 1/3 of the show is spent reading off the names and hometowns of Superman contest winners (at least 200 people won this silly contest every single day). Another 1/3 of the story is just recapping what happened in the previous broadcast (it takes 11 broadcast days to cover maybe 2 hours of story time). The remaining 1/3 is a terribly written story designed as a propoganda piece for sending money to Europe after WWII. What really bothered me was that Batman & Robin are portraited as complete idiots who must be rescued by Superman. Do not bother with this one.
