Outstanding book. Well put together history of Iran & the middle east. The author exceptionally identified & explained major issues in the middle east that are still having impact today.
Fantastic. Insightful. Informative even for those who think they already know. And, amazingly enough for this subject, unbiased.
This was the CIA's first attempt at regime change. Much to our dismay they were successful. They successfully removed a democratically elected secular leader and replaced him with an imperial tyrant which led to the birth of islamist terror groups. This book is a must read to help explain the mess we're in in the present day Mid East.
I just couldn't follow this. It went back and forth between historical documentary to current philosophy. The stories are JUST TOO LONG. I didn't even finsih with the second set of disks. I should be fair and say that even in the first couple disks I learned some REALLY interesting stuff, but I just couldn't handle the boredom which drove me to get lost.
Facinating material and a great read. This book sheds a lot of light on the current condtions in the Middle East.
