Overview

James Dobbins has held a variety of White House and State Department positions under four presidents. He has served as a special envoy for Kosovo, Bosnia, Haiti, Somalia, and most recently Afghanistan. Additionally Dobbins has worked as Assistant Secretary of State for Europe, Special Assistant to the President for the Western Hemisphere, Ambassador to the European Community, Special Adviser to the President and Secretary of State for the Balkans.

While this lecture was good, it would have been more enlightening to have heard the speaker's work recorded, rather than just the lecture. Just the same, this was very thought-provoking on both sides of the political aisle.
