The 'Cathars' were a grass roots Christian movement in the heart of Europe that grew in the Middle Ages as a counter church. They were led by a pious clergy of both men and women who abstained from meat, sex, violence and material wealth. Such a heresy sparked a savage crusade within Christendom. Then, the new Holy Inquisition found every last member of Cathar clergy and burned them alive. Bob Chelmick colls this the story "Amor vs. Roma."
