Overview

Ronald Cole-Turner is the H. Parker Sharp Professor of Theology and Ethics at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, a position which relates theology and ethics to developments in science and technology. He is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ and chairs the UCC committee on genetics. He serves on the Advisory Board of the John Templeton Foundation and on the Advisory Board (Executive Committee) of the Program of Dialogue Between Science and Religion of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.The title of this lecture is, "Are We Playing God?"

Although the esteemed professor approaches from a less than historically orthodox perspective, overall, he is rather balanced. His main points are on target, and his strategy for religious involvement in technological "advancement" is quite thought provoking.
