Overview

To look at her, one would never think suburbanite homemaker Jane Jeffry would be interested in murder and mayhem. But given the corpses she's come across she's practically an expert on the subject. Which is why Jane's booking down to a nearby mystery writers' convention to mingle with the brightest lights of literary crime, and maybe drum up some interest in her own recently completed manuscript. But when a famous ego-squashing editor keels over at the speaker's podium, and a much-hated book-bashing journalist is himself bashed in the parking lot, it seems fairly certain that at least one real-life murderer is stalking the proceedings. Jane Jeffry is on the case, ready to snoop, eavesdrop, and gossip her way to a solution.

With this one you need a notebook to take down the names of some other mystery writers you may not have heard of. They mystery part is not that good but the store is a good one and the whole book is an advertisment for myst4ery writers.

Terrible!! I'm on disc 3 and still waiting for a plot! The whole book is a boring recap of a couple of housewives day out. How did it get listed as a mystery?

It is difficult to believe this book was published for adults. The Nancy Drew books that I read as a teenager were much more interesting.

Pure fluff, not hardly a mystery. I was very disappointed that nothing more happened at a mystery writer's convention.

THIS BOOK IS BILLED AS A MYSTERY BUT IT IS A 4 DISC STORY THAT COULD EASILY BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE DISC. iT WAS FILLED WITH DETAILS OF WHAT THE HEROINES ATE, WHAT KIND OF CAR THEY BROUGHT AND VERY LITTLE THAT PERTAINED TO THE MYSTERY OR FLESHED OUT THE OTHER CHARACTERS INVOLVED. IT IS THE WORST BOOK I HAVE LISTENED TO SINCE I JOINED SIMPLY AUDIOBOOKS.
