Overview

Caroline Dawson survived the town gossips who whispered behind her back. She survived the slow death of her husband, Roscoe Lancaster, the richest man in the county and her senior by three decades. But she feared she might not survive Rink Lancaster, her husband's son. Years before she married, when she and Rink were teens, he had introduced Caroline to her first tremulous taste of love - and then broke her heart. Now Rink is back. He says he wants to settle his father's estate. But driven by a storm of emotions as undeniable as before and more dangerous than ever, what he really wants is to settle the score with Caroline.

this is a 'soap' story in my opinion. of course it will end happily, of course rink will have caroline, but anyway it did have its exciting moments and some believable ones too. i rather liked it as a light diversion and i found the characters mostly predictable but i had to stick with it to the end.

I gave Bittersweet Rain one star because I couldn't give it no stars. It is sophomoric & boring. Every now & then I'm tempted to try another Sandra Brown novel. It always ends the same. I sent this one back without finishing it. I couldn't take another throbbing loins & heaving breasts scene. Yuk.

Ditto, Anonymous. Brown's later works are much better.

This was very much in Sandra Brown's typical style - a lot of romance and vividly described sex scenes, a strong female protagonist and a dark, sexy male counterpart. Nevertheless, I found some of the characters very charming and I really enjoyed the story. It was easy to listen to and had a satisfactory, though predictable ending

This was a very formulaic and repetitive romance, written in the 80's I believe and quite dated, particularly in the way the frequent sex scenes were handled. Entertaining if you like that sort of thing, but not exactly challenging. I managed to listen to the end but did skip some as I got tired of hearing the same euphemisms over and over. A quite unbelievable plot and no character development to speak of.

Typical Sandra Brown romance novel. Push me pull me blah blah blah, then a happy ending. Same story different characters.

I enjoyed this book very much. I haven't read many of Sandra Brown's books, but I intend to make it a habit to read more in the future.

Overall, this was a good romance novel. However, there was too much sexual content to the point where I found myself skipping tracks on the CD. The ending was predictable.
