Overview

"I rehabilitate dogs. I train people." --Cesar Millan
There are at least 68 million dogs in America, and their owners lavish billions of dollars on them every year. So why do so many pampered pets have problems? In this definitive and accessible guide, Cesar Millan--star of National Geographic Channel's hit show "Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan--reveals what dogs truly need to live a happy and fulfilled life.
From his appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show to his roster of celebrity clients to his reality television series, Cesar Millan is America's most sought-after dog-behavior expert. But Cesar is not a trainer in the traditional sense--his expertise lies in his unique ability to comprehend dog psychology. Tracing his own amazing journey from a clay-walled farm in Mexico to the celebrity palaces of Los Angeles, Cesar recounts how he learned what makes dogs tick. In "Cesar's Way, he shares this wisdom, laying the groundwork for you to have stronger, more satisfying relationships with your canine companions.
Cesar's formula for a contented and balanced dog seems impossibly simple: exercise, discipline, and affection, in that order. Taking readers through the basics of dog psychology and behavior, Cesar shares the inside details of some of his most fascinating cases, using them to illustrate how common behavior issues develop and, more important, how they can be corrected.
Whether you're having issues with your dog or just want to make a good bond even stronger, this book will give you a deeper appreciation of how your dog sees the world, and it will help make your relationship with your beloved pet a richer and more rewarding one.

Learn what goes on inside your dog'smind and develop a positive, fulfilling relationship with your best friend

If you suddenly bring home a 4-legged friend and find yourself staring into its eyes wondering “oh boy, now what” then this is the book for you.... After just such a situation I combed the aisles of bookstores filling my arms with every book n’ manual ever published.... In hindsight, ALL I NEEDED WAS Cesar’s Way.... Cesar is the pinnacle of trainers and his techniques magically transformed our out-of-control-sweet-faced-monster into a poster girl for well-behaved dogs - and there was a period when I was ready to pack her bags !!! After peace and harmony was restored I was ready for a more relaxed and loving approach.... The bible from this category is, “The Loved Dog”, by Tamar Geller. Both books are priceless gems. ^..^

Does this guy ever stop talking about himself? Honestly I got the book thinking I could figure out a better way to train my dogs who are my best friends and whom I shower with attention (According to Cesar not good behavior towards your dogs). Cesar has talked all about himself and not much about dog training at all. Unless you are dying to know about the man himself I don't recommend this book at all.

Very helpful and informative

I recommend this book for everybody who has a problem dog. I rescued a dog a couple of years ago and even though we corrected some of his issues he continued to be a high-maintenance animal. After listening to this book and applying some of Cesar's insights and training methods we are on the road to recovery. It has only been a few days since we 'de-humanized' our two dogs, but already they seem much calmer. Thank you, Cesar! The only negative comment I have to add is that there is a lot of name-dropping of celebreties. Cesar is a real good dog psychologist and does not have to resort to that kind of publicity. He is great without his movie and TV star friends.

This book is fabulous. It has deepened my relationship with my two dogs. One of my dogs has had long term separation anxiety issues. After being thoroughly encouraged and convinced by Cesar Millan, my dog Thelma has not had one issue of separation anxiety since the first day I tried Cesar's methods. I am regularly exercising my dogs. I am now able to groom them after they are tired from exercising. It is fabulous.

It was just awful and boring with a self-centered writer. Had to quite about 1/4 way through the listen because I couldn't find anything useful about the storyline or anything practical about keeping/training a dog. Thank you.
