Overview

The bones of a 12-year-old boy are found scattered in a remote canyon in the Hollywood Hills. A grid search is conducted, delineated like city blocks, on the hillside where the bones are found. For Harry Bosch, the City of Angels becomes the City of Bones. The case awakens all manner of police and political machinations, delves into a family's dark history, and opens-up Bosch's own childhood memories. CITY OF BONES exposes the hidden parts of the human heart, the places where morals are confronted by reality...and the naked heart of a city.

This book is excellent. There are several twists and turns along the way, so it is not predictable. The characters are realistic and it is very hard to stop reading once you get started. I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Like most of the Harry Bosch books, this one was very well done and it held it's suspense.

I love the Bosch novels, but this one was better than ever. More insights into this complex character so shaped by his youth. The reader does a great job as usual. Several unexpected twists adding more scars to Harry's already injured soul.

I agree with the other reviewer...good book but I wish the unabridged one was available. I prefer unabridged as it is most like reading and I don't understand why anyone would want to hear a book with sections missing. However, Len Cariou is my favorite Bosch narrator and this was a good story...kept me interested and entertained. Plus, I love Harry...he's probably one of my favorite crime story characters.

Good detective story

It definitely got better towards the end. The first of the story was a little slow and the love story seemed incomplete, but the story kept me listening and guessing until the end.

I just love books by Michael Connelly. His characters seem real. As always, I wish this books was unabridged - then I'd give it five stars.

More twists than a presidential debate. Just when you think you have it, you look at your cd player and realize there are 2 disks left. Very well read, excellent character development.
