It was outstanding. I could not wait for the rental to show. I'm glad I did. They are spellbinding and completely unpredictable. The narrator is Excellent! I could listen to him read the phone book.
Captivating story -- a real page turner. It gets a little rough near the end, but the final ending was satisfying to me. Adrian McKinty is a great writer.
If you enjoyed "Dead I Well May Be", as I did, you will probably also enjoy this book. I really like the narrator's Irish accent. The violent action can be a bit unrealistic, but I still couldn't wait to get into my car so I could hear more of the story.
I took a chance on this book since and I was not disappointed. Well maybe a little. Overall this was an interesting story. The author did a good job developing the characters with just enough detail. The pace was a bit slow at times building to a crescendo finish – that, unfortunately, never happened. That’s too bad since I enjoyed the book and looked forward to listening to it on my way to and from work very day. That might have been due more to the narrator though. He did an excellent job with this book. I was thrown off at first with the Irish accent. But I got drawn in and had no problem understanding him in a short time. In the end the author missed the mark. When I knew the end of the book was coming I started to wonder how he was going to wrap things up with so little time left. Well the answer was…he didn’t. So I was left wanting and wishing he had spent a little more time to create a more interesting ending. Not a must read but a decent book, with good narration.
