Overview

thought he spent most of his adult life in Zurich and Paris, James Joyce always remained fiercly attached to the city of his birth. In Dubliners, he set out to dramatize what he called the "moral history" of the place - and created his first materpiece. Orginally published in 1914, this celebrated collection of stories is both a luminous portrait of turn-of-the-century Dublin and bbrillant exploration of the universal trials and yearnings of the human heart.

Dublin stories

This is an interesting collection of short stories - or vignettes is perhaps a better way to describe them. There are some stories where there really seems to be an ending, and others where it's almost as if the reader walked in and out of a conversation. It was interesting listening in the car, particularly as the narrators are Irish. I'm not sure the stories would be nearly as poignant on the printed page.
