I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I rented the audio even though I read it several years ago. I needed a refresher.

I got the abridged version. I think this book was amazing. I tried the love languages with my fiance and I saw an immediate change in him. We just weren't speaking the right language. I even shared this with family and friends and it improved their relationships as well. I'm truly grateful to have purchased this book because it has saved my relationship and others. I think if you try the five specific languages depending on which is yours or spouses, Quality time, words of affirmation, acts of service, etc. You certainly won't regret it.

Loved the Love Languages!

This is another book that should be required reading for married couples. My only complaint is that the audio recording seemed outdated, but the content is 5 stars. I ordered the book in print so I can review it again, with my highlighter (and husband:). As soon as I figured out what my husband's primary love language was, I began applying Dr. Chapman's suggestions, and the results were amazing!! My next goal is to teach my husband what MY primary love language is, and how he can apply it. This book is personal library keeper.

Amazingly simple but powerful paradigm to view your relationship through. Even if you don't feel like you speak one of these languages, you may be surprised to find your spouse does.

I found that the concepts and advice in this book are practical and make a lot of sense; definitely something that spouse and I can use to make our marriage stronger and emotionally healthier. I recommend to all married couples who feel there's room to improve their relationships.

Very good book/concept. Everyone should read this before getting married; If you are already married you'll benefit from this book too. My husband and I both listened to it and gleaned a lot from it. Doing what you think your spouse wants is not always what they need.

This is a great book for people in all stages of relationships and those who are parents. The basics of the book are speaking to relationships - marriage in particular but toward the end he talks about your children and their love languages. That was quite revealing! Great book - quick read!

Simplified view but powerful. Good ideas and useful for seeing things from your partners point of view.

Ways to communicate

This was a quick read. The audio was clean, clear and the reader's voice was pleasant. The points came across very well due to great use of his examples of each language. I gave a lot of credit to the author for recognizing that not all people fit into on category. Not a must read, however it certainly won't hurt to hear a different perspective on communicating with your mate.
