Overview

Sigmund Freud revolutionized the way in which we think about ourselves. From its beginnings as a theory of neurosis, Freud developed psychoanalysis into a general psychology, which became widely accepted as the predominant mode of discussing personality and interpersonal relationships. Anthony Storr goes one step further and investigates the status of Freud's legacy today and the disputes that surround it.

Simplistic with bias but delivered well, speaker is easy to listen to.

I knew very little about Frued, so this book was really interesting to me. It was a little dry in places, but overall a good read.

A good listen

An interesting book complemented by excellent narration. Freud is portrayed in a fairly sympathetic light, even while his ideas are systematically held up to the light of modern psychiatric science and, more often than not, found wanting.

Very interesting overview of Freud's life but also very elementary. Great for a background before studying him.
