Overview

There's a technique to using goals, according to this author, and he spells it out with great clarity and natural charm. Goals need to be ardently desired, have your full commitment, be written down, have specific steps, and describe a measurable end result. Goals that incorporate your best talents and speak to your deepest needs will be the easiest to achieve because your body and soul will support you and give you deep satisfaction whenever you make progress. The author's reasoning is close to infallible, and he offers a large number of strategies and tips without losing sight of the big picture. This program is highly recommended for listeners new to goal setting.

This was a bit disappointing; a rehash of the 5-year-plan advice you got from your college career center. While it doesn't hurt to be reminded of the techniques (hence 1 star), there wasn't much to this program. Disk 2 was just a waste: Advice on using your time wisely. Gems like "make a phone call while you're waiting for your food in the microwave" and "listen to self-help tapes in the car while you're commuting" show how outdated this book already is - these days, we're more likely to kill ourselves on the road by driving, shaving, reading, phone calling, watching a DVD, etc., all at the same time than waste a single minute in the car. Look elsewhere for good goal-orienting advice.
