Overview

Hallelujah! The Sweet Potato Queens are back!
In 1999, Jill Conner Browne, royal boss of Jackson, Mississippi's own glorious Sweet Potato Queens, introduced them to the world in the hilarious bestseller The Sweet Potato Queen's Book of Love (which contained everything you ever need to know about Love, Life, Men, Marriage, and the importance of Being Prepared). But, fortunately for us, that was not the final chapter in the Queens' splendid saga. The Sweet Potato Queens still have plenty of stuff to say and valuable wisdom to impart about how they went from being Cute Girls to Fabulous Women, including:
Dating for the Advanced, or Advancing
The Joys of Marriage -- if you must
More Delicious, Death-Defying Recipes
The Promise for Men -- six little words that will make any woman Lolling About -- the official activity of the Sweet Potato Queens
And, of course,
The All-True Story of the Two Most Wonderful Men in the World
Not to mention:
Reader Mail -- honoring the adventures of brand-new Wannabes and Honorary Queens from around the world
If you haven't met the Sweet Potato Queens yet, this is the introduction you've been waiting for. If you already know the joys of Queendom, this is your official welcome-back party.

A hoot! Being 'Grits' (girl raised in the south) myself, I was a little skeptical of the narration when I first began listening to this book.....I thought the narrator's voice was a little too soft & not quite southern enough; but as the book went on, the vocal characterization was perfect. This book is just as entertaining as SPQ's Book of Love and leaves you with some similar words of wisdom and clearly sensible advice. A lot of fun!

This has got to be one of the funniest and best read books on the market. So often the author does not do as well at reading as with writing, but this is an exceptional exception! She is so very funny and lovable and delightful and real. I had read the book but enjoyed it every bit as much in the hearing. I drive about 30 minutes to work and found myself laughing out loud often and thinking, "what a great way to start a day!" It is very irreverant, yet very acceptable to my fairly conservative ears. I loved it and have shared it with many of my friends, even friends at church! Thanks, KS

This book, which I would never have THOUGHT of reading had it not been recommended by a friend, just flat cracked me up! Trust me, you have to LISTEN to it, just reading it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. Jill Conner Browne, reading in her definitive Sweet Potato Queen accent and intonations and pronunciations, make a kinda funny book into a real treat! It's fluff, sure; but it's wonderful fluff! Treat yourself!
