I could not finish this book. I listened to two CDs trying to become interested in it. The problem for me was the story for the first century+ was filled with too many names, dates, places that I knew nothing about. Also much of the terminology used to describe governmnent, church, society was unfamiliar to me.

If you are either travelling to Ireland or plan to. Even if you want to know why there has been so much blood shed on this island, this is the book for you. A very sweeping history of the peoples. From the first settlers all the way through the early 1960's. Focuses very much on the people and dates so you will need to be interested in this. But it also exposes the relationships of all the people. Highly recommended.
