Very interesting from a historical standpoint of what went on in the aftermath of September 11th. He stated some great leadership points that apply even if one has a different political ideology or disagreed with their goals or methods. I would have rated it a 4 except I thought it was chincy that someone else read the book. It would have been more powerful if it was read completely by Rudolph G.
A little boring at times, but otherwise a good read
Wow, this was powerful. Giuliani gives the reader a unique first-person perspective of the 9/11 tragedy that hit New York City. I found myself staying up at night to listen to how he dealt with this tragedy. I highly recommend this book, however it is more about 9/11 than it is about leadership. There are a few great leadership caveats sprinkled throughout the book.
This book provides an inside account of Giuliani's experiences on 9/11 as well as his childhood and his days as a US Attorney. Rudy uses all these experiences to put forth his leadership principles. Very entertaining.
For whatever reason, this book was not what I expected. It seemed to be more of a blow-by-blow capturing of Giuliani's reactions to the 9-11 events than to his overall leadership philosophy. Guess I was looking for conceptualizations more than diary entries.
Giuliani knew how to influence his teams and treat them with dignity. At the same time, he expected action and quality from himself and from those who worked for him and with him. I felt this book matched what we see; his passion for life and his goals. Very easy listen.
