Les Miserables is the greatest book by the finest author who ever lived. I have listened to and/or read just about every version and abridgement of this masterpiece. Each one is unique, but this one captures the soul of Hugo's life-changing story of forgiveness and redemption. I highly recommend it.

I thought the story was great. I only wish the book had been unabridged.

Not too bad

At first I was skeptical, to condense a 1200 page book into a 5 hour audiobook. But this audiobook gives the essential plot line and none of the diversions that take up hundreds of pages in Hugo's book. I tried to read Hugo's unabridged book but got bogged down at around page 200. I thought for the parts which I had read, the audiobook did a good job of communicating the emotion and plot.

Had low expectations......

I'm not much for Broadway shows but there is no way the could have done this story justice, it was excellent!

Amazing

There's definitely a reason this book is a classic. Such an amazing and heart-wrenching tale. Every word seems perfectly placed and the audience is taken through emotional highs and lows. The reader is quite good, especially with the French names and places. Really an excellent read!
