The basic plot line follows a well-off married couple through the 1930-1940s as they raise they're family. I did not see the movie, and am not sure how the two compared, but the main characters from the film, Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward are the readers. All in all the book was not too bad. A little hard to follow at times, because each disc interchanges between Mr. Bridge and Mrs. Bridge so it was difficult to tell if the times were overlapping or moving forward. The characters were interesting, if at times hard to relate to and unbelievably stiff. Worth listening to, but doesn’t need to be at the top of the list.
