At first, I was very dissapointed with this book. I have always loved Dick VanDyke and grew up loving Mary Poppins and all that, but the book sounded like a Disney movie, all full of sugar and a very little (mild) spice where everything turns out super nice. Everyone he ever worked with was super and professional and even bad days end with smiles. However, as the book progressed, there was some discussion of unpleasant issues that the author faced, at least later in his life. Its an interesting listen, but not so deep.
