Some good pointers on what to look and listen for. Now let's see how well I can apply what I learned to my business negotiations.

Quite Disappointing

This book was difficult to follow. The changes in voices from male to female was distracting. The use of her one time and him the next became confusing. The book described nuances that only a PhD in this field could detect. The same actions that could be stated as lying, could also represent truth. Just because someone looks to the side before answering a question, does not always mean that person is lying. Maybe that person needs a moment because the truth is going to hurt someone. A hesitation does not mean always a lie. The examples were many times too trite and unbelievable; bouncing from work to home situations. Also, techniques were not explained very well; they were read so quickly the listener did not get a change to grasp the idea. All in all, I was very disappointed in the book. As a college text book it may work well; in the layman sector it was too complicated.

I checked out this book even though the other reviews were less than flattering. I would recommend this book for managers and salespeople who have a reason to put its practical applications to use. I picked up some useful tips to consciously watch for.

I was APPALLED by this book.

Groundbreaking techniques?! PLEASE! This book that is supposed to teach you how to uncover truth and not be lied to again does nothing but tell you how to lie and manipulate people. This book actually goes on and on for 2 hours on how to drill and manipulate conversations so you can get the "truth" out of people. WHO WOULD WANT TO LIVE THAT WAY??? NOT WORTH YOUR TIME!

This book provided good details on interrogation techniques and ways to get the truth out a situation. It only touched on some subjects.

How About Never Trust Anyone Again?

Written by Dave Jackson from Mogadore, OH on March 1st, 2005

Someone got burned REALLY BAD once (and wrote a book). This book is interesting in that it gives you LOTS of clues to look for. If you are serious about this subject you would need to listen to the book multiple times. Personally you would apparently not trust ANYONE eventually and question everything, and I'm not going to live like that.

Honest, Officer...

I think David Lieberman must have decided to take his police training techniques and write a best seller. The techniques are interesting and quite practical... if you're you're an alpha male US police officer interviewing an alpha male US crime suspect. There isn't a single allowance made for cultural differences. I wish Lieberman had simply used words like 'perpetrator' and 'suspect' and not tried to squeeze his interrogation techniques into corporate or relationship clothing. But, you know- it is a fascinating glimpse into human nature.

Never be lied to Again

The first part of the book which talked about body language and types of speaeh that indicate lyinig was useful. The second part which describes interrogation methods to get a liar to confess might work if the person was lying, but if you were mistaken, your relationship with that person would be severely damaged.
