Overview

On a Long Island beach at dusk, Bud Mitchell and Jill Winslow conduct their illicit love affair in front of a video camera, set to record each steamy moment. Suddenly a terrible explosion lights up the sky. Grabbing the camera, the couple flees as approaching police cars speed toward the scene. Five years later, the crash of Flight 800 has been attributed to a mechanical mal-function. But for John Corey and Kate Mayfield, both members of the Elite Anti-terrorist Task Force, the case is not closed. Suspecting a cover-up at the highest levels and disobeying orders, they set out to find the one piece of evidence that will prove the truth about what really happened to Flight 800-the videotape that shows a couple making love on the beach and the last moments of the doomed airliner.

I thought it was a good story, I just feel let down from the ending. Not to give anything away, it is like reading/listening to a mystery and not finding out who did it at the end of the story

This book was OK up the end but and he did not know what to do so it ended stupidly. He left out all the information you needed to conclude the book. Last book of his I will ever read. If I had the actual book I would have thrown it away but alas all I could do was erase it.

Do not miss the book! A little slow in the beginning but well worth the wait. Not a short book but a wonderful long story that will have you on the edge of your seat for the ending. Repeating main character has me wishing I had another book to start the minute this one is finished. Rarely do I write an author but this time I can't wait to ask him when these characters are coming back.

The book is slow to get going, but it does improve if you listen to a lot of the many discs. You need a lot of time to listen to this story

I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of detail that made the story great and the people seem real. The ending was a bit predictable, and a little disappointing. It is worth the time to listen.

Check this one out!

Brilliant! Keeps you guessing. being that this is based on a real incident (TWA 800), and one knows the ending (or lack thereof) of that story, you are kept wondering where this story is leading. The ending is brilliant. Loved it.

Narrator does a nice job of capturing the essense of John Corey. Th abridged version tells a very complete story.

This is one of DeMille's best. The climax sneaks up on you and hits you with the goofy stick and it's so good!!!! I only listen to unabridged; abridged books are the worst! Other great taped books to try: Fear Nothing and Seize the Night by Dean Koontz. Other good DeMille include Gold Coast, Charm School, and Up Country but they are not yet available unabridged so get out your reading glasses!

I had high expectations of this book from friends and family. It was good and worth reading but not as good as I expected.
