Bartha Knoppers, professor at the Faculté de droit at the University of Montreal. Knoppers is a senior researcher and counsel to the firm of Borden Ladner Gervais and chair of the International Ethics Committee of the Human Genome Organization. She was a member of the International Bioethics Committee of the United Nations, Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization which wrote the Universal Declaration on the Human Genome and Human Rights.
