So painful at the beginning. A little better after Olivia gets to the eco-lodge, but not by much. The most redeeming quality was the reader's voice.
This would definately be my least favorite book written by Helen Fielding. Rent Bridget Jones or Cause Celeb instead.
It is completely inappropriate to base a comedic novel on suspected terrorists, numerous references to 9/11, and stereotypes about Middle Eastern individuals. This book was ridiculous. And the narrator's voice was so annoying that it distracted me from the content, which may have been a blessing in disguise.
A silly girly adventure and a good selection if you just want some light laughs and nothing too serious.
"Helen Fielding was born in an industrial town in the north of England, studied at Oxford University, and went on to work in television at the BBC. Her first novel, Cause Celeb, was based on her experience while filming documentaries in Africa for Comic Relief. She now lives in London, after a spell as a newspaper journalist. Surely you know better than to ask whether she's married."
