Sidney Sheldon is one of my favorite authors, but I felt that this book was not one his best. Although well written, it seemed abnormally long and slow-moving. And it didn't help that the subject was depressing and improbable. I'm sure that totally immoral people exist, but I didn't enjoy reading about this one. I had trouble suspending my disbelief when the heroine spent years hating her former lover and working to ruin his life, but then after just one kiss, she decided that she still loved him and couldn't live without him. Questionable.
