I am a fan of Stephen Hunter and this was one of his best. It was one that held my attention and one where I timed my drive to finish sections. I found myself cheering out loud and talking to the stereo. Would have been embarassing if I hadn't been alone. A build up to a climactic ending. Wish I would have gotten the unabridged so it would have lasted longer.

Highly recommended. One of Hunter's better books and a top notch reading/performance by Jay O. Sanders. He captured the mood and tone of Hunter's writing completely. No frills, just deep, underlying passion and commitment. It's not a pretty world for Earl Swagger but he makes the most of it. No smiles, just commmitment. Only thing that would have made this better is for it to be unabridged so it could have gone on longer but don't let that dissuade you from experiencing this excellent book and performance.
