Fantastic book. Written with such an incredible amount of creativity and detail. I was enthralled for every disk. The voice actor did a fabulous job with the accents.

The story is quite good, but potential readers should be aware that pity comes from the sickeningly awful things the boy has gone through. I was going to say that if this were a movie, it would be an easy R, but I would walk out on a movie that showed me these things. This is not to say that the nauseating and outrageous images are gratuitous. They form the hardest of hard-luck stories. The book describes small episodes from an Indian's young life which consistently include sodomy, child abuse, incest, torture etc. Had I known, I would not have rented it, but it is as well done as it could be for what it describes. I pray that this is not an accurate "portrait of 21-st century India" as the description claims.
