I loved it. I liked the books and the man who reads this does a wonderful job. He can make different accents for different characters. If you like Eddings books you'll probably like the audio books. Great.
I have read/listened to the whole Belgarad and over all I enjoyed it a lot. This is my least favorite book though. It really drags. I was falling asleep listening in my vanpool and I couldn't have gotten through the book format. Although there is a lot of character development it's overkill. Eddings takes time on several occasions to point out that Cenedra and Garian are treating each other like crap and pouncing on each others mistakes because they're young and immature. Gee, that wasn't obvious, even after the first two times it was pointed out. That aside just get through this one for a brighter next couple of books.
I have completed the Belgariad and listened from start to finish. It is an excellent series. Often times, action is slow because of character development however compared to other fantasy-adventure novels. I guess the best sign of how good the series was is that I am sad that they have completed their journey. I plan to begin listening to the Malloreon soon and am hopeful that the characters continue where they left off.
