Overview

Time seems to slow as the clock ticks down. . . .

Pan-Con Airlines captain Rayford Steele prepares for a flight to London with beautiful flight attendant Hattie Durham. Because of his wife's newfound faith, Rayford looks forward to time -- and the possibilities -- with Hattie.

Journalist Cameron "Buck" Williams is in Israel when the Russians attack, and he experiences for himself the miraculous deliverance of the Holy Land. Buck cannot deny Chicago bureau chief Lucinda Washington's insistence that the event was prophesied in Scripture, though he dares not consider the personal ramifications.

Meanwhile, Nicolae Carpathia eliminates any obstacles in his path to power. As the newly appointed president of Romania, Nicolae is invited to speak before the U.N.

Without warning, millions disappear and are welcomed into the unspeakable presence of God.

On earth some realize what has happened . . . what they've lost . . . what they've missed.

And the darkest days lie ahead for those left behind.

Maybe it's the current times and the current evil administration living Hypocrisy that have made me lose interest in this series.Maybe it was because of the Abridgement..All I could think of was how angry the Religious Right (whom I use to belong to) make me right now, starting at the very top of this Country...I though, maybe the US is the Beast not USSR or any of the other "guesses" people make about Revelations...Then I though gee, W. is trying to bring this on himself..So, I'm glad i listened to the abridged version.. In Short..I still believe the same things, The Rapture etc... but someone needs to go ahead and end this series before the Hypocrisy of the Right turns others away from the Word....It's left me skeptical, and the whole message in these books seems to be just another Cash Cow for the Authors and Publisher....

There was really too much overlap in this book with the original Left Behind book and this prequel probably was not really needed. Some of the information regarding Carpathia and how he because president was some new information. But I felt the other 2 prequels really gave the background information that was missing about the characters from the original Left Behind series. Especially about Carpathia and how he came about. As usual, he totally epitomizes evil in the audio books which makes it difficult to listen to sometimes.
