Boring reader, some good information but not worth the time.
This is basically an advertisement for a three day course that the author runs. Skip it.
This was the most boring and irrelevant book I have ever had! The narator was even boring to listen to.
The context of the book was excellent. I learned a new approach to marriage and the issues of long term relationships. The author/reader did not lend excitement to the information. A different reader may have increased the interest of the book.
Helpful audio with practical advice for a strong marriage.
Kind of boring. The reader wasn't very exciting either. I was bored listening to it.
Didn't like it, very wordy and used big ideas and words to make simple pionts.
Very different & interesting approach to sexual disfunctional part of the marriage or the communication part. I like how the author use the non-pathological approach. It is true that not everyone will always have perfect passionate sex and it's ok to know that it IS normal among people. It takes a certain level of maturity, self discipline and realization though to finish the book.. enjoy.
Though any attempt to spice-up long-term committed relationships is laudable, this may not be the book for everyone. If pop psychology laced with authorial self-congratulation (it's now printed in dozens of languages!) and such grad-school phrases as 'non-pathological', 'efficacious', and especially 'differentiation' pitched as laymen's terms excites you, then you will enjoy this as a potentially helpful guide.
We have each had our reckoning points in our relationships. Feeling on top, feeling left out, or at a stalemate, in fairly plain language, Schnarch talks you through the "how you got theres" and "where your headed" with clear directives on how to achieve well being in your relationship. Recommended read.
