Overview

Carmen got the jeans at a thrift shop. They didn't look all that great; they were worn, dirty, and speckled with bleach. On the night before she and her friends part for the summer, Carmen decides to toss them. But Tibby, Lena and Bridget think they're fabulous. Lena decides they should all try them on, and whoever they fit best will get them. Nobody knows why, but the pants fit everyone perfectly. Over a few bags of cheese puffs they decide to form a sisterhood, and take the vow of "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants"...the next morning, they say good-bye. Now the journey of the pants -- and the most memorable summer of their lives -- begins.

AFter reading, I rented the movie. As usual, the book is so great and the movie is so-so. Loved the journey. Great writing.

This book was so good I often stayed in the car after I arrived at my destination. The narrator was fantastic and the story kept moving. I look forward to hearing the rest of the series.

Although I am certainly not a teenager anymore, I still enjoyed this book about teenage feelings. I will probably rent the followup books just to see how the characters develop over the years.

I was expecting a childish book because my daughter read it and loved it, she's 15. But what I found is a heart-warming story that I was totally absorbed in. The narrator had a really nice quality that made the book completely believable. It was a nice refreshing change. It was fun and sad and everything in between. I loved this book.

I couldn't get enough of this book! I am 35 and this brought me back to my high school days and my high school friends as if it were yesterday. I didn't want it to end and I can't wait to rent the next one. One warning - chick lit!

This would be a great book for a pre-teen. Not too complex but sweet with some good old Aesop's Fables kind of morals.
