This is the only Michael Crichton book that I have NOT loved... this one was awful. Yes, the reader was bad, but my dislike goes beyond that.
This book is about Global Warming, and while there are many excellent rebutals to the "question" of this issue, he cherry picks the sub-issues to the point that an un-informed reader might believe that "Global Warming" is a complete scam and has no basis in reality and is only an issue becuse Environmental groups are making money by actually creating the problem themselves...
Every "Environmentalist" in this book is a complete whack-job idiot and every person that doesn't believe in Global Warming is Sage, Intelligent, and knows all the "facts."
This is a piece of Global Warming misinformation disguised as a "non-fiction" book. Shame on Michael Crichton.

Not worth your time to read. Boring, boring, boring. I could not finish it. Very disjointed.

I listened to five of the discs before I sent the whole thing back. After one quarter of the book I could care less what happens in the book. In addition, the narrator was terrible and gave the book no life at all. The abridged may be better but I doubt it. I usually love Crichton's books but this one fell flat.
