I picked this book because the reader was Joe Mantagna. He is wonderful to listen to and I found I enjoyed the book and story just as much.
It's abridged, not unabridged as the listing states. That might account for the comments about plot development and so on. Too bad. I like Jo Montagna as a reader and was looking forward to this read.
The story is sound and provides a good basis, but charactor development is lacking. Probably too many charactors to begin with. There was no justification for the romance. Things seem to move too quickly without any understanding of why.
An interesting, if somewhat unbelievable rendition of some events in World War II. Follows the typical formula of the American as "John Wayne."
