Corporate America: There is no recession, my friends: no downturn, no hard times. The rich are wallowing in loot -- and now they want to make sure you don't come a-lookin' for your piece of the pie.
The polls indicate that 60 percent of Americans are "upset or angry" about this land in which we now live -- a land where crooked courts select the president and money rules the day. Stupid White Men

I've read pretty much all of Michael Moore's books by now. At times, what he says can be quite profound. At others, he seems to be literally barking at the moon. This book was no exception. The book, as his other works, primarily intends to make you think. In this particular volume, in one chapter, he'll chide one side of an issue, then in the next, make fun of those on the other side of the issue. However, in all, though I don't agree with everything he has to say in this book - its original intent is still in tact. Pay attention, because while he continues to bark at the moon, many of his points are both poignant, and germane.

So far, I've listened to this book and "Dude, Where's My Country?" I've never heard a more poorly-written book - it's just a series of unrelated rants with no consistant train of thought. About what happened during the election I can give no insight, but as for everything else, I assure you it is either statistically irrelevant, misleading or factually false. Such wanton manipulation of the public is dispicable. Why would anyone tolerate a book with such a racist title? No one would publish a book entitled, "Stupid Black Men." Why is it okay to call Condoleeza Rice an "honorary stupid white man?" I started this book with no opinion of Michael Moore (honestly - I hadn't yet seen any of his movies) but now I can't help but wonder who would read anything by this self-satisfied, loudmouth ignoramous?

Michael Moore's material is a good read, but a better listen. Somehow hearing this is even better than reading it. A spoon full of humor helps the bitter medicine go down, and hearing the author's own vocal emphasis helps liven things up a bit.

I loathe the present administration . I am an avid fan of Michael Moore's..loved his movie..9-1-1.. I am glad I joined Simply Audiobooks..to get an education through books while not having enough time to sit down and read...really enjoying membership. Having said that I do not agree with a lot of what Michael says in these 4 discs about lack of opportunities for minorities. The biggest prejudice is not color but lack of a skill or education. It is amazing how prejudice decreases as education and hard work increases. There are tremendous opportunities now with the boomers aging but you need a skill or education. Michael is right on target with everything else and it is shocking to hear what the news media does not report. I would recommend this book..the point of getting an education to appreciate all points of view whether you agree or not..something this administration is intolerant of to the greatest degree.

Funny and sarcastic in typical Micheal Moore humor. It is something that you have to pay attention to or you may miss his point. I enjoyed his banter.

Gosh, what a rant. I suppose there were some truthful points in here... somewhere. I listened to this book on a drive to New York and felt as if I was trapped in my own car with a whiney know-it-all. An out of date whiney know-it-all.
Preaching to the choir

Even though I love Michael Moore's films, this book was a bit too strident for me. He makes a lot of good points, but goes overboard too often for my taste. There is also a technical problem with this audiobook...discs 5-7 aren't divided into tracks. Instead each disc is one long track of about 65 minutes. As a result, when I took disc #6 out of my car's CD player at about the 59 minute mark, I had to either start it over from the beginning or hold down the fast forward button for 10 minutes while driving!

Mr. Moore might have called this “If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention” except that everybody’s seen that bumpersticker. But it does eloquently capture the spirit of Stupid White Men.... Originally published in early 2002, there is no mention of Mr. Moore’s latest obsession, September 11th. But he does spend quite a lot of time on the 2000 election. As I listened to this just before the 2004 election, it seemed oddly appropriate. Now afterward, those chapters sound like spite. Very listenable and thought provoking, but certainly dated in some important aspects. Recommended as background for beginning Greens and Liberals, and nostalgic Democrats, but keep reading, researching, and expanding the range of things you know you don’t know.

Very important book. Though put sometimes crudely, the shocking facts led me to further research and to further "shock and awe". In a humorous tone, Moore exposes the current gov., it's motives, it's actions and it's influence on our lives.
