The information from this CD set was good, the delivery was just long and drawn out. It made it difficult at times to pull out the helpful stuff. The only reason I didn't stop listening was because I didn't want to quit in middle of the book, I didn't want to leave it unfinished.
I have ultimate likeness for Dale Carnegie for many reasons. The business entreprenuership of Dale Carnegie is superb. I happen to be fond of the techniques that people should be listening to each other rather than cultivating an argument. Arguments and rough-housing will ultimately not be any profound solution to any problem. I enjoyed most of the listening of Dale Carnegie's message to allow others to express feelings and intuitions, in order for you to control or receive greatness. In many respects, the only method for individuals in business will be for one individual to speak and allow the message to be stated, while the other individual listens. Two individuals talking at the same time will not solve anything. As a matter of fact, a perfect waste of time. Politicians and other business leaders should review the tapes for very important information is available on how to have others like you at the same time of job performance.
So this was done by Dale's company, but not by Dale. But I'm not sure that Bill Gates saying "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard" should count as a leadership style, or at lease should not be recognized as one. Perhaps 30% of the material covered is from "how to win friends" book. Decent.
These are Fantastic. I can't wait to get the rest of the set.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ - I wish they would allow me to rate this zero stars! I gave up after the third CD. What a bunch of junk! Don't get this book!
What would I do without Dale Carnegie's simple, smart, relevent insights? I took the Dale Carnegie course years ago and I still learn from his books every time I read them. I recommend that you read his Leadership Mastery book as soon as possible. You can't help but learn something about yourself and those around you. Dale's books make those who read them better people.
Very helpful. Brought home some new examples to the same personal development ideas.
"Dale Carnegie is a self-help book author. Read a review of his self-help classic, How To Win Friends and Influence People .
Born in 1888 in Maryville, Missouri, Carnegie was a poor farmer's boy, apparently not seeing a train until he was twelve years old. In his teens, though still having to get up at 3 am every day to milk his parents' cows, he managed to get educated at the State Teacher's College in Warrensburg. His first job after college was selling correspondence courses to ranchers, then he moved on to selling bacon, soap and lard for Armour & Company. He was successful to the point of making his sales territory, south Omaha, the national leader for the firm. "
