This is an excellent primer on how to get out of debt. Dave Ramsey makes an enormous amount of sense and I'd recommend his book to anyone. However, I believe he's somewhat behind the curve when it comes to investments and cash value insurance. Term insurance isn't the answer for everyone. And the Efficient Frontier theory has proven conclusively that investing solely in equities with an antipicated 12% average return is not facing current market realities. In addition, if people wait till they are in their 60's to buy long term care insurance, they may not be able to afford it. Insurance and investments are like cars, they are adding new safety features and benefits yearly. Dave needs to do some more homework on that part. Otherwise, he's a very smart man.

I listened to this over and over and I bought it as well. If you are looking for guidance to getting out of debt , this is the book. It is the best advice I have ever listened to. After only a month on this plan, I made a huge dent in my debt.

I was not impressed at first. I had a hard time getting through the first disk... but once into the second disk I was excited about starting my own TOTAL MONEY MAKE OVER. If you are in Debt you need to at least listen to this book. It maybe what you are looking for. Its not a get rich quick scheme ... its practical, hard hitting, get out the elbow grease reality. My wife and I are starting our total money make over this month and already we are happier and excited about saving money. If you are not ready for a reality check or to work hard don't rent this audio book... let someone else who is ready...have access to it! Good luck starting your TOTAL MONEY MAKEOVER!

This book changed my life

After building up over half a million in debt putting myself thru med school, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on that might give me tips on how to get straight financially. This book is the first that gave me a whole new paradigm and truely changed my life. I am on track now and owe 85% of it to this book. If you have credit cards and car payments (mine are gone) then you owe it to yourself and your family to read this book. I had to buy this CD so that I could listen to it over and over. I have heard it no less than 20 times and still enjoy it.
