Overview

In The Truth about Muhammad, New York Times bestselling author and Islam expert Robert Spencer offers an honest and telling portrait of the founder of Islam -- perhaps the first such portrait in half a century -- unbounded by fear and political correctness, unflinching, and willing to face the hard facts about Muhammad's life that continue to affect our world today.

Excellent and Important Book

"The Truth About Muhammad" is a must read for any reader not familiar with who Muhammad (peace be upon him) was, how he lived and what he preached. The book is very well written as the author tells the story of the prophet's life and teachings, provides context on his world of the Arabian peninsula, and shows how his influence and his religion continue to shape our world today. Very enlightening towards understanding the motivations of today's jihadists.

You Can't Handle The Truth!

  • Book Rating: 5/5

This book is not for those so Politically Correct or zealously Leftist that they are nolonger open minded enough to handle uncomfortable facts. Methodically researched and illustrated with a plethora of quotes from the Qur'an, the Hadith and other Islamic traditional texts, it demonstrates how radical Islamists and Jihadists justify with their religion heinous violent acts like flying airplanes into office buildings, beheading Western journalists, stoning rape victims, and more. Because the author goes to great lengths to provide evidence that is thoroughly documented, the full Arab names of historic people, places, events and texts can sometimes confuse the untrained Western ear and requires focused listening. This book is well worth the work it takes to get through it, because only when we face and deal honestly with these hard truths, can moderates everywhere ever hope to co-exist.

Very Detailed

This is a very interesting audio book for anyone interested in learning more about Islam and Muhammad. The author goes into very detailed accounts and aspects of Muhammed's life and how they have influenced and continue to influence Islam. There is one big drawback to listening to this book in audio format. The narrative is very detailed with a lot of names, dates and places that are difficult to keep straight without concentrating. I found myself going back and listening to sections again and even taking a few notes. Overall an excellent book.
