The book is great, the CD not so much. it would skip at the ends of each chapter leaving out part of the words. The story line is really good.

Enjoyed the narrator but the book is not what I expected from James Patterson. Fantasy/Science Fiction is not my favorite category so my rating is based primarily on the type of story.

I like James Patterson but this was not very good. Only hung in there for the narrator, Blair Brown. Not what I've come to expect from James Patterson. I guess I'm not a science fiction fan.

Fun

This book definitely grabs your attention right from the beginning, as usual with Patterson. But it is not his finest work. I did enjoy it while driving, but as a sci-fi book, it doesn't quite answer all the questions you are left hanging with.

This was a good listen with just enough twists and turns to keep you in suspense. I liked the fantasy of the story combined with love and drama.

This has to be the best audio book I'v ever heard!! The idea of "winged creatures" kind of turned me off at first, but Patterson has a way of spinning a tale that carries you in a whirlwind of suspense to the very last page!! The character development plus the romance that evolves between Franny and Kit make you want to read more!! There are times you will loudly laugh and times you will softly cry! Two thumbs up!! I can't wait to listen to the next book in the series!!

Si-Fi

I'm not normally a Si-Fi fan but I really enjoyed this book and the compasionate heros who find each other during the story.

this story was a little "way out." I hope to think that this kind of thing would NEVER be probable or possible. All in all, the story kept my attention, but it truly is more than a little unbelievable.

interesting premise, badly written

Written by Judy Stokes on April 18th, 2007

While I almost finished listening to this book, I have to admit it was not one of my favorites. The premise was interesting: human gene manipulation to produce new oddities. However, the writing style left much to be desired. The romantic angle seemed to have been tossed in without much thought and I finally couldn't take it, and shipped the discs back before the long-drawn-out conclusion.

This was a very good book although I'd rather had an unabridged version. Looking very much forward to reading the conclusion, The Lake House now.
