A social shopping site for book lovers has arrived.

How many of you are fans of social shopping sites like Groupon, LivingSocial, Wagjag? For those of you who aren’t familiar with all the rage, they offer deals on everything from restaurants to gym memberships, to scuba diving lessons within your specified location. What’s worth noting is that HarperCollins is now launching its own social site, a social reading site called Bookperk.

At Bookperk, users can now take advantage of group discounts and get access to book-related events, and even buy signed first edition copies of certain books. This is great because authors are now going beyond the written word and are setting up evenings with their fans as well hosting book clubs and cocktail parties.

It’s a great opportunity for any book enthusiast to really get their hands on something unique. But all these great offers have an expiry date, so you want to make sure you check the site often enough to never miss a beat.
